The tremendous success of Taken guaranteed a sequel and it sort of feels as though Liam Neeson’s character may be butting heads with more bad guys in Taken 2 around this time next year. While we won’t officially reveal when that arduous hitting film might be for your local multiplex, we do know when the Yanks may be getting it and that is the reason normally an outstanding guide: 5 October 2012. After all, we’re unlikely to get it prior to the U.S. – as we did with the primary film – now it’s become a successful franchise. Olivier Megaton (The Transporter 3, Colombiana) may be sitting behind the camera, while Luc Besson and Robert Mark Kamen share scriptwriting duties again. There’s also now a plot synopsis for the film… “Liam Neeson returns as Bryan Mills, the retired CIA agent with a specific set of skills who stopped at nothing to avoid wasting his daughter Kim from Albanian kidnappers. When the daddy of 1 of the abductors swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage during their family vacation in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to assist them escape, and uses the similar advanced level of special forces tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the abductors one by one.” Seems like Neeson has the similar way of attracting trouble as John McClane does in Die Hard movies. The stories those two could tell over a beer!
