IBC: A/V recorders from Sound Devices

AMSTERDAM — Sound Devices (, based in Reedsburg, WI, is showing its new Pix audio/video recorders on the IBC show in Amsterdam. Available in two models — the Pix 220 and Pix 240 — the A/V recorders were previewed for the primary time on the NAB show back in April. They may be able to easily connected to cameras via HDMI and will record QuickTime files using Apple’s ProRes or Avid’s DNxHD codec. These files can then be used directly in post production, helping to hurry up workflows.
