The trio, who just released their third album, Own the Night, open their doors within the latest PEOPLE Country issue, showing off Hillary Scott’s renovated bungalow (decorated with flea market finds and TJ Maxx deals), Charles Kelley’s 2,700-sq- ft. colonial (“IT IS NOT too big, so it’s manageable and ideal for us,” he says) and Dave Haywood’s 900-sq.-ft. urban loft (complete with windowless bedroom “so once I get off the bus, I WILL BE ABLE TO grab a couple of more hours of sleep in the course of the day if I WANT to,” he says).

All first-time homeowners, the musicians bought their places after the outstanding success of 2010’s multi-platinum Need You presently. “For all of us, it is a great sense of accomplishment, an actual life milestone, like buying your first house is for anyone,” says Kelley.

Scott consulted with family and together with her fiancé, drummer Chris Tyrrell, before buying her 3,400-sq- ft. bungalow. “It’s my sanctuary, where I come and feel safe and calm and relaxed,” she says.
