September 10, 2011 AMSTERDAM — UK-based VFX software developer The Foundry ( is previewing a brand new desktop VFX workflow application on the IBC show. Hiero provides a scriptable timeline tool for Nuke that conforms edit decision lists and parcels out VFX work to Nuke artists. 

The company describes Hiero as a bridge tool that they developed according to customer demand. Its close Nuke integration allows shot progress to be viewed within the context of the edit, and helps liberate finishing systems to be aware of finishing. 

The product is slated for release in November and can be available on OS X and Linux, with Windows to follow.
